Suggestion: Text search on missions list

Post by Bugbear »

A suggestion for the budding parcel and cargo mission takers.

On the mission selection screen, it would be handy to have a text search field so you can highlight all the missions that contain a search string.

e.g. I'm already travelling to Olympus Mons, so I'd like to quickly see if there are any other missions with that destination. This would make it easier to string together a collection of missions all going to the same place.

If we wanted to be a little cleverer, we could have some filters - Interstellar destinations, Intra-system only, Current planet only (e.g. Earth cities + satellites + moons - anything orbiting the current major body)

Maybe if we ask ecraven politely, something along those lines could be done, now that the UI/BBS is being moved to imgui.

An addition to this thought...just putting it here for future reference. Do missions expose their 'metadata'? In my above example of travelling to Olympus Mons, I'd probably be quite happy to look at any delivery in the vicinity of Mars (any satellites, space stations or spaceports). In this case I'd be querying the destination 'address' which would probably include the [Star System], [Star System coordinates], [Star]*, [Planet]*, [Satellite]*, [Destination]* <-- I'm using RegEx notation here to imply zero or more of each element.

Short answer is no, you can not use internal variables in one module (Taxi) from another (DeliverPackage).
