Howdy all,
Its been a busy year for me, not much time for extra curricular computer activities for me, but things are starting to quieten down again (at least until the next major work project kicks off)
So I have dusted off the work I was doing on my ALBR corp ships again...
Has anything changed with the models in the last year that I need to be aware of (I'm too lazy to trawl through the forums / GITHub changelogs )? The last change I am aware of from a modelling point of view is the camera and weapon placement with the mesh rather than in the LUA files.

I have some MOD files if you want to have a look. Very much a WIP at the moment but constructive comments are welcome :)

Re: ALBR corp ship facelift
I can't say I like those reskins for two reasons:
1. Tiled atmospheric shielding has been a bit of a hallmark of ALBR ships and I don't think it should be swapped out for different look, especially when it doesn't mesh nearly as well with the models.
2. Scorch marks near the thrusters are way to severe and look like huge black holes ripped in the hull. Not good.
That said, ALBR ships do need some surface detail and more used looks, and this is certainly a step in that direction.

Re: ALBR corp ship facelift
1. I am keeping the atmospheric shielding tiles for the undersides to the craft (except possibly the AC33, I'm undecided with it) but I want to have something different for the top surfaces (to give a space shuttle type effect). After talking with nozmajner, I have agreed that the top surface is a little "busy" so I am now going to try something a little plainer and maybe bolder.DraQ wrote: 1. 2. Scorch marks are a little dark but in those shots actually make it look a lot worse than it is. The photo angle actually looks right into the retro thruster so effectively from this perspective there is a big hole in the hull
Re: ALBR corp ship facelift
The above mod files have been updated with a revised .lua format the same as the other ships and all patterns have now been converted to .dds format.
Could someone try them out for me please? My home system is now complaining that the graphics card does not support compressed textures when loading Pioneer :( (hopefully just a graphics driver update when I get time will sort it)

They work for me. I was able to equip them with a bunch of stuff too.

That'll be my fault, can you tell me what OS you use, and what your GPU is?Zordey wrote:Could someone try them out for me please? Also if you can post the output.txt/opengl.txt files that'd be great!

FluffyFreak: I have a Fedora 19 laptop with Intel 2000 (i think) onboard and Nvidia GT555m with optimus
I have had a lot of issues with the optimus system and from memory I think I am using the Nouveau drivers instead of Nvidia which I'm sure doesn't help.
I have a pretty free evening planned (I hope) so I may actually finally update to Fedora 20 and the latest Nvidia drivers and hope I can get them working.
