Just noticed this, seems I'm getting a ctd every time I launch one of these. Not ship particular either.
Anyone else notice this?
While on the subject, shouldn't unguided rockets be fire-able without having to target designate anything?
Unguided rockets problem?
Re: Unguided rockets problem?
Yeah, they've been broken for years. From memory they instantly get NaNs in their velocity, which triggers a floating-point exception.

Re: Unguided rockets problem?
Strange, I'm sure I have fired these before without problems - I guess their just finicky.
Whenever there's a fix available, some changes that would make sense:
The need to target these before firing is kind of against the point of 'unguided' rockets.
The better way to have this work is:
Hitting 'M' without targeting anything automatically fires the unguided rocket (if one is available)
in what ever direction the ship is pointed. (or in the case of rear firing, 180 degrees from the
direction the ship is pointed)
If a target 'is' selected, the default would be to fire any 'guided' missiles first - with any
of the 'unguided' missiles being fired last.
