Tichy, you were very helpful and stop talking like that. Actualy, you were the only one that really showed me the way to get this thing right.

I will most likely need a replacement for the beat. But if it doesn't sound too empty, and repeating I may delete it completely as well. I may also end up deleting the part at 0:55 and just getting the synth dirctly into action.

You may expect the new version in a few hours. I might need some comments again :)

This meets my taste much more. :)
It runs smoothly until the end. It doesn't sound repetitive as the previous (I think it was mostly the beat), but much sparse and atmospheric. I'd try to change only one thing: the attack of many notes sounds very sharp and often the melody sounds like a 'staccato' (i hear a brief silence between a note and the following one), but IMHO, a 'legato' could fit better. I don't know if this is what it was meant to be... anyway, that's probably just my taste.
Anyway, I think that with some more refinement, it would me a good background music.
However, this is just my opinion, and I'm even not a developer of pioneer, just a translator. :)

I am (was?) just a translator too...
Yes, this wasn't what it was supposed to be but if it became any better I will let it evolve this way.

About the "attack of the notes", it is just my inexperience and inability with the software I am using. I will do my best though...

EDIT: As I mentioned the software I think it would be better if I told what it was; Fruity Loops. I sometimes do the final touch with Sony Vegas. I also have OpenMPT but haven't used it.

EDIT #2: I finall figured out how soften the transitions between notes...
Here you go, smoother transitions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt2DGx9LARQ

What we called "synth" was actually some very high-pitched vocals. You might notice in this version if you try hard enough.

I like this last version! Now let's add a black monolith near Jupiter with this music. :)

...with the exact scale of 1:4:9 kilometers ;) It was a good bit of work nonetheless

Since I don't want to create a new discussion for every single music I found/created, I will keep using this one.
Here's a ship-destroyed candidate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcLk9V6xb04

For research purposes, the music is: Hungarian Dance No.5 (with my minor modifications.)

I know the dev forum isn't supposed to be active, but if no one has the slightest opinion about this, shall I create a PR or what?

EDIT:
I don't want to seem pushy to get my work accepted but perhaps we could use the "menacing" piece in ship-nearby. Mars.ogg is as menacing as that piece if not more menacing.

Also I changed YouTube channels. I will change the URLs accordingly.

This is a new, shorter piece, actually (if it is accepted) it is (will be) 4th shortest piece we (will) have. I hope this doesn't bother you.

@nozmajner I've removed the raw part.

Just in case you wonder what is is like in-game, here's a short video (but with bad audio quality, unfortunately):

...and if you listen to this, please, I am awaiting your comments on this. You can say that it is one of the worst pieces you've heard but it is better than remaining silent (or shall I make a pull request?)

I think it fits. How does it sound a little bit slower?

I stretched it from just above 2 minutes to 3 minutes and I don't think it made a lot of difference, so I might keep it like that (except the finishing may be a little too long and there's a not-so-important audio distortion). I thought you might want to hear it yourself, so here you go (3 min version):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXm56EGaFeM

If you think that was a little too slow, there's a 2 minutes and 30 seconds version, which is slower than the original but not too slow:

As I said, in my opinion they don't differ too much, really, so pick your best to either get me back to work, or if we are done, to make a pull request. (Also, that would ultimately save the piece from being shorter than I want)

At first I liked the 3:00 version mostly (for being a little more relaxed than the 2:00 version), but after listening to the 2:30 version I prefer this one. It's a good compromise. IMHO, as always. :)
