Wave upgrade

Took some time to re-edit some of my original existing Wave-e patterns for use on the regular Wave fighter.
Also included is an upgraded scorched streaked skin for the Wave (-w- some minor cosmetic fixes) and accompanying specular map.
(rear door and details are retained at original size)
Skins and patterns included are at 2048x2048 and are also in a mod format that can be used as is - or incorporated into any
new Pioneer build, as desired. (source files link below)

They look good :) I tried them out last night before bed.
Would you like them to go into Pioneer?
If so we can either help you to do a PR via GitHub or maybe do it for you if you're not happy doing it.

Also have you taken a look at any of the other ships? Some of them could _really_ do with some more variations and your texturing work is good.

Please if you wouldn't mind Fluffy to submit the pull request for me, as I've got a plateful right now :0
Some other experiments in the pipe, ATM - including a big Wave-e upgrade pending...
Time permitting, afterwards I can take a look at some of the other ships.
Any in particular you want to see change you can list them here.

@baobobafet - some feedback
They look good. But 2048x is a bit of an overkill for a small ship like the wave in my opinion.
And some of them has quite visible seams (pattern2, 4, 5, 6, 8, ). If that's supposed to be fading of the paint, then it doewsn't work. It looks more like a graphical glitch.

FluffyFreak,
Thanks for the feedback,
No problem down scaling the textures - they are included here in hires for just such an option. Feel free to change them to suit.
I will look over the patterns you have mentioned to check for problems and will post an update ASAP ,)
Aerodyn observation.
In regards to the open weapons bay for the Wave, it would be smarter (more aerodynamic) if they closed during transit, only opening when ordnance was to be fired.

I think they look nice. I quite like the striped/checkered designs for example.
But that paint fading/chiping still looks like an UV glitch in my opinion. And seems randomly placed on some areas.
I'd also ditch these two with those logos:

They look forced and out of place in my opinion. They take away from the overall look of the ship rather then complementing it.
On a sidenote, some of them has a bit of glitch on pattern boundaries. A lot of ships have those actually, we were talking about them a while ago. (Is it because of the antialiasing of the image?). I think we need to fix those on all ships. It's just happens to be more pronounced on your new patterns, because they are more bussier then the others.
So a general question about this, just to be sure: what are the tone ranges for the three colors on the patterns?

Can you be more specific about where and on which worn pattern(s) you are referring - since this might be an easy fix?

No doubt there is a bit of icon crowding (eagle outstretched to the stars was the theme I was aiming for)
However, I find it has grown on me to the point that I now rather appreciate it's retro design aspects enough to override such sensibilities.
I do however, take your point about overcrowding of elements in terms of composition and that it can often become a delicate balance.
Since your posting of the image, I have noticed that it is unfinished in that there is an unintended glitch(left over from the Wave-e version - it still has the small
apertures for the Wave-e's Explorer logo) so feel free to ignore this pattern - or any other pattern(s) for that matter that have perceived issues.

Yes I have noticed this as well (most noticeably on patterns 6 & 11)- This becomes even more evident when "dayglow' colors are used on the ships - or when viewing ships from particular distances or at certain oblique angles. I also think setting some color parameters avoiding the use of some of the more garish colors could help reduce the impact of this. Admittedly some of this is due to noise that can and ultimately should be removed.
Dealing with this would likely require virtually having to remake any so afflicted patterns from scratch.(unless there are some novel ideas on lifting/negating the
offending pixels from each pattern through some simpler procedure?) Regarding solutions to this, I would appreciate any additional thoughts that may be helpful.

White, 32% black & 50% black.
