Aliance Space Guard

Post by bszlrd »

Just found this game on SSC: Aliance Space Guard
It is a work in progress very realistic, granular simulator it seems, akin to Rouge System. But with a large ship and it's tiny systems to control.
It has some very interesting things going in the UI judging from the videos. It is mostly UI it seems, you don't have a window, but everything's drawn by the ship computer. The planets even have translucency to them, which is kind of interesting.

The map looks especially good for example.

It looks really cool, they've absolutely nailed that navigation map!

Oooh I just saw this:
Also momentum is conserved at all times which often leads to large relative velocities at jump exit points: a problem that only your fusion rocket engine and orbital mechanics can deal with!
That's a neat mechanic that I kinda wanted to convey with the exit angle and speed from hyperspace but I don't think that I was as successful with it.

Momentum relative to what? Galactic centre? Galactic coordinates, I assume?
