How much of this would be actually visibe given that we don't have any fancy over the top nebula background? Would the faint Milky Way be enough?

You'll see the warping of the background stars in the other system along the rim, I think that was visible in the Interstellar movie, as their destination system wasn't a nebula either.

To bad that this is not realistic and will probably never get observed.
It looks cool, but a object wrapped around a space-unicorn looks cool too :) .

I like the homeworld approach more, disassemble the ship on one side and assemble it on the other. It may work if information can get transmitted through pico or nanometer wide wormholes.

This had cool effect for diving into a wormhole, (you can control direction with your mouse):

Space Engine also has rather nice black hole lensing.
A Scott Manley video of it https://youtu.be/Htyv6m9jaNY?t=694

I've been thinking some more about the jump effect, the Alcubierre drive contracts space in front of the ship, and expand it behind the ship, I wonder if this is something one could do in the jump animation, and if it would give some cool visual effect?

Here's rendering of what it looks from the outside, I think, which isn't relly relevant, I think, but pretty cool none the less:
