Hi, I am working on improving how factions are generated. Currently factions are assigned systems, and planet and station in that system is assigned as their property. I am trying to work on a system akin to Elite Dangerous, where factions may have a homesystem, but factions can:
a) Co-exist in the same system
b) Faction A owns x planet or asset in the System, while Faction B owns y planet or asset in the same system.
Working on the Faction and SystemPath classes, I only have an inkling of what I am doing because I am not well conversed in Indexes.
c) Factions can be assigned particular planets and assets in custom system files
b) Factions can compete over system assets, once there is some sort of BGS setup.

It's an Elite Dangerous term, it means 'Background Simulation.
