Difficulty to make a point & click interface "inside" starports?

How difficult would it be to make a simple point & click interface when getting "inside" a starport? As in when you click on Show comms a panorama would appear with multiple service windows corresponding to clicking on the comms tabs, eg Police & Equipment market, with benches and tables at the center. In Show comms its tabs area would be replaced with an outline of what the Service hub is, eg
Image
which would produce something like

, and hovering it would show a label similar to Service hub. So the point & click interface would simply be an indirect way to switch between Show comms tabs content, to give it a bit of "life". Each window would have a clerk giving some dialogue; and optionally there would be a dialogue option to skip the dialogue in the future, so clicking on the clerk go directly to the "tab content".

Also I would humbly like to point out how asset intensive that approach would be

If you're referring to me, beyond the outline above, the only thing missing would be something like

That's a lot of assets?!

First step in my original post contains mockups of what you described above: point-and-click "lobby". However, I want full movement in the base, i.e. 2D or 3D ismoetric view, and in that thread bszlrd provides some test isometric rendering of pioneer-ships, and last post (to date):

I can't find how to like your post, so 👍︎. It's a good idea to include fight missions as a character as long as there's not too much in 1 place, and you have to do at least a bit of piloting in between IMHO. It would be amazing if there was a system to allow boarding other vessel, eg when the hull integrity is < 25% its speed slow as damage increase so you can do precise shooting and when it reach < 10% their shooting is erratic and you can dock them, then a boarding game start (as a character). Maybe if you captured enemies alive you'd get paid more or (non-exclusive) get more reputation.
