I read the explanation about the spam on IRC, however I'm now able to logon but not able to talk to anyone to solve the problem of not being able to talk to anyone.

Perhaps discussing what needs to be done to get registered somewhere is something that needs to happen.

I've renamed the topic, to generally indicate that there are issues with freenode, namely a tide of spambots. They are working on a fix, but until then only registered nicks can talk on #pioneer. This is how you register.
