Diffucuties with starting the game under the newest Ubuntu 17.10.

Is that possible that I can't start the game (the newest version) under Ubuntu 17.10 because of this version of Ubuntu uses the Wayland graphic server, in contrast to the elder versions using x.org ?

You can always start X.org to check it out, from login screen click preferences/session icon and pick X.org session.
