Please add a Map to this game!
I tried this Christmas day, and it looks great. The issue is even with the manual u cant find out how to get where you need to go to. Example Port Makenzie in the sol system. Either a updated manual or put in Google Maps or something,

Hi!
There's a map, under F2, for the galaxy.
To see what star base is on which planet (for any system in the galaxy), you can check system view F2->F7 (I think).
Also, I moved your post since it doesn't belong under "Projects", and renamed the topic, as I don't see what "quest" has to do with it?

Bless you, I did find a lot more documentation and that helped a immensely. I was able to cruise the stars, as long as they were in the sol system.
Here is the However part. I was looking for Captain Kirk's, Sulu button so he could plot a course from the Serenity, Tranquility prison sector to the EZ Aquarii -1,-2,-1 sector. I did a search and found the place. Then used the information on

To
A. Lock selection: You can lock your selection as the hyperspace target with the Space bar.
B. Hyperspace target: Shows the coordinates, distance, fuel and travel time needed to reach it, and a brief info about it. It can be locked with Space bar. This did not work!
C. Tried F7: Engage hyperdrive under the Manual heading Flight Controls.. And I got the Plantary info screen.
So I went to the View screen, and played with the numpad keys and the A,D,W,S keys.. I did not try the Logitech or Microsoft Sidewinder Joysticks..
Here is my issue. While I can rotate the ship. I have no way to know where it is headed. Where is the screen that shows You are here and Headed There?
Re: Please add a Map to this game!
If you were using the Barnard's star starting point (I'm asuming, because you mention tranquility), then your ship doesn't have a hyperdrive, so you can't leave the system until you get one. Press F3 for ship info, it will show what kind of hyperdrive the ship has, and the maximum range with current load.
There should be a F7 wormhole button at the bottom right of the flight UI. If that button is empty, you can't jump either because you don't have a hyperdrive, you didn't select a target, or your target if out of range/you don't have enough hydrogen in your cargo hold to reach it.
You don't need to press space to lock your selection. You only need that if you want to check other systems, but you want to keep your current target selected. It's enough to click on it to select it for hyperspace.
That Basic flight manual is a bit stup sadly. I'm yet to find time to extend it further.

...Or start at Earth or New Hope.
Barnard's Star as starting point is sub optimal without a proper in game tutorial, for new players I fear.
