Any New News On The Mac Version?
Hi guys. Its very rare for me to post here but I've had an enquiry over on Mod DB as to when the Mac build will be updated. Does anyone have any news that I could pass on? Thanks!

We've not heard from EloquentMess in a little while, last thing I heard was that he was very busy with real life (tm)
I wonder if Robn ever got the Mac builds working? Does anyone know?

Hi Andy. Thanks for replying. As I said I rarely post here as I prefer to let you devs do your thing in peace here without me pestering you. It was just that I noticed the Mac build had not been updated since February. To tell you the truth I wouldn't have noticed had I not gotten that question over on Mod DB as I only ever upload the Windows build there, but if anyone has any news (even if negative) it would help.

Re: Any New News On The Mac Version?
Well I've just done a test build with the latest code on my Mac Mini and the good news is that it all works :)
The bad news is that I don't know how to package it up like EloquentMess did for installation and the "build-OSX.sh" script is old and out-of-date so it will take some looking into before we can have a new OSX build.

Thanks for that Andy. I will pass that on. ;)
Re: Any New News On The Mac Version?
Just to be clear, the problem is that we don't have any Mac computers to build it on any more, after robn lost access to the Mac build machine.
After a few months eloquentmess showed up and offered to build it for us, and laarmen got the scripts compiling again (due to bitrot). I know eloquentmess has the scripts for building, and uploading to sourceforge.
So Mac builds don't follow the Win/Linux builds, for that reason, they're done by two different persons.

Re: Any New News On The Mac Version?
Hey all,
I just came across this project, and run predominately on OSX - but with the current build I am force to start on Barnards Star due to a crash issue. I would love to try and help out anyway I could, but with the current instructions I am having trouble getting the current source to build.
Was there a particular branch/fork that would be best to get started from?

Re: Any New News On The Mac Version?
This would be because of this issue which is truly odd. I don't know why it happens and cannot get it to happen on my own MacMini when I build from source.
The guy(s) who used to build the Mac version is(/are) no longer doing so and none of the rest of us are Mac developers. My own Mac Mini is just for testing although I have offered it up to do builds if we can figure out how best to do them.

Re: Any New News On The Mac Version?
Hi FluffyFreak,
That was the same crash/issue I was getting when trying to play, which then kinda spurred me into wanting to look further. I've been messing around with the latest development branch and have now got it compiling and running, and just looking at trying to tidy up the changes I had to make, and test that it hasn't affected any other builds before trying to push it forward.
Will keep everyone updated with how I go - I have forked the repository in Github and I'm currently integrating the third party libraries into the main project. I had to do this with the SDL2 libraries to get it to run, otherwise I was getting some strange crashes when trying to load the SDL surfaces.
Is there any particular test plan that I should attempt? At this stage I have just been starting up on Earth and flying between the stations/planets.
