Little stars

Hello,
All the stars are very small in size and brightness.
In relation to the distance the size is unreal.
For example the Sun as seen (Pioneer) from Earth is seen as a fuzzy spot. Seem to see from pluton
Sun from Mercury
Sun from Venus
Sun from Earth
Sun from Mars
Sun from Earth (Pioneer)

There's an old discussion about this on the
SpaceSimCentral forum, it's not really a problem.
The Moon is the correct size and distance from the Earth etc, however the FOV (Field-Of-View) means that it appears small in the sky. One option would be to reduce the FOV to the amount a person would have and it will then be visually the correct size.
This comes with the drawback that you will lose a lot of peripheral vision in the game.

Here's a 35mm (approx 50°, vertically about 30°) FOV for comparison:

The scale of the Sun looks better relative to the image dimensions, but you do lose peripheral vision.
Note that these visible scales are very dependent on field of view, like the Earth example you posted. With a good telephoto lense, you can make an image where the sun fills the entire image.
And also there's the illusion where the Moon and the Sun appears bigger near the horizon, because you have stuff around it for scale reference.
The config.ini is in the Documents/Pioneer directory (on windows), and it should be in your home dir on linux.

ok, but all the stars in the universe are larger.
It can work only for nearby objects FOV?

I don't understand the question.
The FOV essentially works like zoom - it tells you what angle, what part of all-around 360 degree view is mapped on your screen.
It can't work selectively.
For reference, both Sun and Moon seen from the Earth are about half the width off the tiny finger held at arm's length.

I mean the background stars (Galaxy) are also larger when the FOV to 25

Yes that's a ... well, it's my fault is what it is, and there's a PR up for us to discuss it but so far no-one really has.

Hi conquestio,
Earlier I merged the change to use point stars. If you get the next build tomorrow, or compile it yourself, the background stars should always be the same size.
