I like those cylinders too, and I want to make some eventually.

I tried making an elevator with a very simple mesh sticking out from the octagonal ground statin to see how it would work. Just to see how it would look. The problem with it was that if you get a bit far from it, then it's only visible if the center of the station is in view.

I guess this can go into "art inspiration" - On the Taxonomy of Spaceships.

Much news of Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaace today but this one caught my eye via a Guardian article.

Milky Way starfield composite image viewer as I shall now grandly call it since I can't find what they're called it. Might be really good for a reference image!

I'm going to put this under "art" 'cos we don't have a whole section devoted too it... yet, maybe I should also pull in the facegen thread?

Anyway: "The Future Is Not American".

I think that we're not that US focused on Pioneer, mostly because none of us are from the US ;) European/Eastern-European yes we seem to have a lot of developers that might fit that bill but it's worth keeping in mind some of the sources where we don't have a lot of contributors although we might have a lot of unseen players.

That's some good point. Especially directly for facegen. Which I'm planning to work on, creating a simple but appealing replacement, which won't be that sad when it has to go, when Evarcharts full fledged replacement arrives.

There's even a boycott. Because Black! Female! Noooooooooooo!
Really? Sad if she really means it. There are always idiots in the comments section.

I've read a lot of sci fi by female authors (well, most sf I read is by male authors), I make no distinction. I've read Ursula K LeGuin, Elizabeth Moon, CJ Cherryh, and Kate Wilhelm, just to mention the first that came to mind, and they we're all good.
...we might have a lot of unseen players.
I do wish we had a Chinese "liaisons officer" that could speak on our behalf to the Chinese pioneer forum (and on their behalf to us). Good thing Walterar caught that crash-on-Chinese-symbols-bug.

If you want changes on the forum, you can poke me (I have admin power, but choose to only show myself as "green" for now). I've had ideas to create a devoted "models/art" sub-forum, and maybe a "hello-I',m new" sub-forum, but I don't want to do that without checking with others first, and I haven't wanted it enough to deal with it.

Although we don't have any US devs (at the moment), they're the ones who play the game (well, they're 320 million of them):
