Some of them are probably already suggested or added to the game.
Distress Call
When you have no fuel and/or hydrogen in an inhabited system, you might still be able to get fuel and/or hydrogen with a distress call. Of course it must be more expensive.
Consecutive Jump
If you need to go to a distant(out of hyper space range) system, it should be able to do consecutive jumps using an optimal path. If such a path can not be computed or if you do not have enough fuel it should inform you.
Jump Gates
Those provide nearly instant travel between factions. They are rare, probably only one per faction. A Faction can choose to restrict travel to another faction
Relation Between Resources
If you are carrying live stock, you should need oxygen, water and food. The same goes for your crew, passengers and your crew. But they would require less food.
Distance to Surface
A field that shows distance to the surface of the planet, rather than just to the center of it.
Planets have structures like: power plants, research labs, army bases, etc.
The vital ones are heavily protected, the others have little to medium protections.
For example you could turn a planet inhabitable by destroying all of its power plants. Though it would be hard due to their superior defense.
Stations are also destroyable but they are heavily protected and can take lots of damage. You can destroy its defenses one by one to render it defenseless.
A mission might ask you to destroy a specific structure or station, or clean out their defenses
