It'd be nice to get the old "HDR" star shaders out of mothballs and cleaned up so the emissive stuff can work the way it was supposed to and the stars don't look quite so spotty. Just if anyone was looking for nice project on top of this :)

The HDR shader were very cool. I saw it in the videoclips of bchimself. Maybe, now it could be implemented without the glitches it had in the past. :)

Most of the problem it had before was that it was applied to the entire scene after it was drawn, so it had no idea what it was actually looking at. The better way will be to do individual shaders for different components of the scene. We already have this for atmospheres, so we'd do another one for stars, and so on. Similar effect but much more focused and controlled.
