I always liked O'Neill cylinders even though they hardly ever showed up in TV/Film sci-fi.Also I found some nice space station images on deviantart by Glenn Clovis.
Interstellar sort of included the idea in the closing scenes but you didnt get to see it from the outside.
On a side note, has anyone considered the idea of Elevator Stations or Tethered Stations??
