If I recall correctly, Space Combat (x-plane derivative) had something like that, and it was very useful. It refuses to start on my machine, so I can't verify it though.
Might be useful to have something similar displayed on the system map too.

Re: Proposal for Reticle System & a Ship Attitude Relative t
There isn't too much to elaborate now. I'm just playing around with HUD/NAV ideas. And yes, I was thinking about a full HUD/NAV design, from a usability, and based on that, an aesthetic point of view. I'm just exploring what I would like to have in a HUD/NAV UI of a spaceship, and how it could look ...

Art Style Guide for Pioneer - brainstorming
Luomu asked me if I'm still interested in creating an Art bible for Pioneer. Of course I am. Thank you again for asking me. I think first there should be a proper brainstorming and discussion about this, to provide a good foundation. Especially among the developers who are propelling the game forwar...

Re: Venturestar
Nice :)
It handle's a bit too good for a transport of this size I think. I'd decrease both lateral and rotation thrust.
I like those small tanks near the engines.

Re: Proposal for Reticle System & a Ship Attitude Relative t
Isn't this a bit too cluttered? For me, it feels like it obstructs the view. I think it would look better to use minimalist icons on the cockpit views for each mayor degree (N E S W Zenith, Nadir, and one inbetween those). And a navball like thing somewhere for precise readings would be better. For ...

Re: Small transport
I've manged to bring this ship to a usable level, it only needs some texture polish. Might need a little stats tweaking too. I've named it Mola Mola after a sunfish, but that can be changed. I'm saving the Guppi for a larger transport. Here's the mod file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/456051/...

Re: Small transport
Nothing special. A bit of adjustment when gears are down, so it won't intersect with the ground. Maybe they can be used for limited thrust vectoring. The main point of those is to have an adjustable heat sink surface, so you can choose the direction to radiate heat. On a limited scale at least. It w...

Re: Projectiles too fast?
What if you use invisible beam weapons with a rhythm of damage and render some tracer bullets on top of it, only for visuals?

You mean this monster?

My aim is a bit of resemblance Streamline Moderne/art deco, and the planes of the WW II era and after that. A certain low-tech/retro but functional look. That's the reason for that style of landing gear too.

Small transport
This is the small transport ship I'm working on right now. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BtBleXCWBkc/UXbm9d2n7wI/AAAAAAAABbo/9b2rc89RgdE/s800/pre001.jpg She's about 7m high, 9m wide and 11m long (without heathsink fins). Has four aft and two retro engines and a redundant array of laterals. Name...
