Re: Mission ideas
I do tend to agree with darekdeo, however I want to stress that this is no-ones fault, there just needs to be some story or arc, some motivating factors, other than acquisition of wealth. Some people play games like these to build empires, not just make money. Others want to go exploring, or rather,...

Re: Combat easy mode by limiting opponent thruster power
Another approach might be to get the pirate generator to add weight to the ships. That would have the same effect would it not? Would the AI cope better with that?

Re: Galactic Navigation
Ok, really off topic, but I was just thinking wouldn't it be cool if while selecting missions off the bulletin boards, your crew could offer advice or critism but as captain you have the final say...which could make them grumble during the mission. Sometimes I pick up cargo runs to different places ...

Re: Galactic Navigation
I was thinking similar things. Not only would you have a crew to fill the traditional posts, but that crew would get better the more trips you do. I'm sure they already have some sort of rating. Yet to explore that one. So an engineer rating would affect how long ship components last, and how quickl...

Re: Galactic Navigation
Yes, I had just gotten that far nosing through the galaxy generator. That's what prompted me to think about plotting courses at a galactic scale. Love the course plotter idea. It would encourage much more exploration. Particularly if there were legends and rumours of super tech civilisations or othe...

Re: Galactic Navigation
Wow! Mind Blown! Please forgive, but I don't have a creative bone in my body and I am insanely jealous of them folks that do. Mockups look very cool, and I see that some ideas made it to code (ecraven to thank I guess). I love the idea of the route planner. That's exactly what I mean. I shall have t...

Galactic Navigation
Here's a thought....how do you navigate through the galaxy? If I go beyond 50ly away from Sol, I'm hopelessly lost. Well, maybe not that bad, but if I want to make my way to somewhere far away....say the center of the galaxy....how do I plot a course and stay on it given I have to pick and choose de...

Re: Targeted ship information
Fine with the tweet, it's all advertising for pioneer which can only be a good thing. I have already been using the git instructions and have pulled, merged the latest upstream with my code and pushed back to my origin. So feel free to have a look. It's not too exciting unless you have the hardware ...

Re: Rethinking the planets
ok. I'll start documenting what's there and put a wiki page up. At least then people can get an understanding of how it works, and we can then start upgrading it.

Re: Rethinking the planets
3 years on, did this (or the life thread referenced in the first post) go anywhere, or make it into the code?
