Re: Haber Medium Freighter
Medium it is. Despite it being relatively simple in shape, the "Block" is weighing in at 30,400 tris which Im putting down to overly ornate thrusters and cargo loader detail. Im not sure I should model a cockpit or even what it should look like... Im expecting the landing gear to be a simp...

Re: Haber Bulk Ship
This thing is huge! :)
It will be a nice landmark to fly around when one turns up.
As for TEU tonnage, wouldn't 33792 forty foot containers (67584 TEU) be a smidge over 3x the TEU of the Hong Kong? Not that this would be a problem in the future/SpaaAACCCE.

Re: Haber Medium Freighter
An update. I have rebuilt the model from scratch. At 30.5 tonnes per TEU container the smaller, 4-container freighter would have a capacity of around 122 tonnes which really places it into the light freighter category. The larger 24-container variant is more inline with the Mola Ramsayi and the Blue...

Re: Haber Medium Freighter
A modification to allow side-loading of 20'x8' containers with more space for propellant at the rear. This configuration is more akin to a heavy freighter. At either scale, Im planning to put rails on the inside to draw containers in/out. One question I have about containers is how they are packed i...

Re: Haber Medium Freighter
Thanks Both, I1m curious about the scale as well, it is not clear yet. Thats fair I haven't quite figured that out exactly yet. Im thinking Deneb/Bluenose sort of size. As for propellent, the thought had crossed my mind too. Aesthetically, I didnt want the backend to dominate the ships proportions. ...

Haber Medium Freighter
Hi All, I figured I would try and help fill out the Haber freighter lineup. I had a really rough design in my head that I would like to post for comment. There is currently an active mirror modifier applied to this model so try to imagine it a little more uneven. The main concept is formed around th...

Re: Courier
Thats a great little model, I especially love the inflatable section as a concept :D It might be paid-for, but DecalMachine looks really impressive... @Keeper, I have just pushed up some dirt to my repo. I have also tweaked the panel lines, paths and normal to bring them a little closer to the origi...

Re: Courier
Thanks Keeper, I think adding glow to the porthole on the door would work. The greeble at the front was meant to be the missile/probe launcher so wasn't intending glow there. However the sensor(s) in the middle could be a nice target for some glow? Something Noz suggested was to add heat sinks to th...

Re: Courier
Having the ability to change colour in game is really nice. Im happy with those texture modifications, tho I don't hold the keys so would need someone to bring them in to the PR. The original .xcf file had everything broken down into layers; base colour, panel lines, dirt and decals. The dirt was pa...

Re: Courier
Downloaded the Skipjack and made some texture improvements -- specular lighting, darkening the tyres and inside of the thrust cones, and making the stripes a pattern so each Skipjack will have differently coloured stripes. http://www.keeper1st.com/pioneer/skipjacktexes.zip Try these files and see w...
