Re: Haber Medium Freighter

Alrighty, another incremental update. * added detail to RCS thrusters (I did this manually before realising what noz meant by using cutters!) * added sinonatrix heat sync objects * replaced hanger door with templated airlock * smoothed cockpit All changes pushed up to github: https://github.com/BobT...

Re: Haber Medium Freighter

Ok, I concede, that looks pretty nice. Smooth it is :)

Also:
* my greeble for the sensor package is a bit poor - if you have any suggestions/images etc... then I would be happy to swap those out
* thats a huge thruster you have put there on the side... gonna give the pilot whiplash!! :)

Re: Haber Medium Freighter

Well this is interesting.... Blender 2.82a had a weird issue on my Mac where it would regularly consume 60ish GB of RAM. It would run dog slow then eventually I would run out of Swap and have to force kill Blender. I have just upgraded to Blender 2.83.2 and as soon as I open my block.blend my Mac lo...

Re: Haber Medium Freighter

I could record myself doing the landing gear, to show the process, if that helps.
I actually think that would be an awesome resource for other contributors like me who don't have a firm grasp of Blender/3d modelling.

Re: Haber Medium Freighter

Thanks for the input Noz - impressed you were able go through that investigation so quickly!! RCS thusters: * I like that additional detail - will add * I can reduce the node count Engines: * complete fluke that the size of any the thrusters matched your templates - it was all done by "meh, see...

Re: Haber Medium Freighter

Another minor update. * have added RCS thrusters * cleaned up the cockpit * remodelled the ventral thrusters * remodelled the sensor module I still need to do some more tidying up but I think I am there with the general design. At this point before I go any further, if anyone wants to comment on how...

Re: Sinonatrix overhaul

The modified gear look better to me at that scale - tho Im always impressed by how spindly landing gear looks on airliners and they seem to cope just fine... The animation is really nice and feels believable.

Re: Sinonatrix overhaul

This is looking really nice!! Im liking the direction of the greebling on the front - something I'd like to adopt for my future projects. Criticisms: - Im not sure I like the brake lights at the rear, they kinda remind me of my old Ford Escort! /:) The style doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the ...
